I would not be able to call myself an author if it weren’t for Wandering Words Media! As a TV/Film Producer, I’m used to being stuck in my head, going around in circles endlessly during the creative process, driving myself crazy over the tiniest details to craft the “perfect story” - which is why I always rely on a strong editor in post production to help me see my vision from a different perspective. So, I knew in the process of writing my first book, one of the most valuable things I could have done was to find a good editor. I knew if I had the strength to put these stories out into the world and finally speak my truths, I had to do it my own way. I needed editorial backing that was going to understand my vision and encourage me to run with my creative twists.

Enter: Christina! I was hoping for a good editor and I was blessed to receive a fantastic one!!! Many people wouldn’t understand the raw, honest, vulnerable tone I write with, nor the way in which I view experiences in life, yet Christina never questioned any of that! She encouraged me to not hold back and just be me! In her edit suggestions, she spoke in the way I write. In her story notes, she always had the perfect balance of telling me what I needed to hear while being compassionate to the content and stories of my life. I write about many things we don’t always talk about as humans; she never told me to hold back and, instead, encouraged me to “not skip the good stuff!”

Hearing my editor tell me she wanted more… I found myself writing new stories and rearranging the entire vision of the book throughout the process. What started as one idea I thought I was completely sold on evolved into the first book in my self-discovery memoir series. I am SO proud of this book and could not have had the strength or courage to put this out into the world if it weren’t for Christina's and WWM's belief in the work I was doing.

I submitted my manuscript for copy editing after completing a round of developmental/content editing. I figured this was just a nicety. I didn’t think there would be much left to do.

I was wrong. Tina P. corrected a bunch of items that I would have missed. She flagged numerous statements where I needed to cite my sources. She reworked some of my sentences to make them stronger. And Tina gave me constructive feedback in several areas that ultimately made my manuscript as rock-solid as it can be. I can’t emphasize enough how valuable and enjoyable the copy editing process was.

K.E. Koontz did a fantastic job on my book. She provided thorough comments, guidance, and helpful tips to improve the content. Turning your book over to a stranger who may not understand your vision is challenging, but I am so happy I didn't skip the developmental/content editing part of the process.

I tried out a number of editors before coming to Wandering Words. Other editors didn’t seem to get me, didn’t really understand my style, made changes and suggestions that didn’t work for me.
